Just this month great britain government and Highways England has announced that they will be implementing bright yellow speed cameras that will begin replacing the present grey coloured ones we view (or don’t see) while driving today. The public seems to be divided in opinion for the matter some feel that it’s too within your face with an unnecessary expense, while some feel it is something long over due. Certainly, a stride in the direction of better road safety should be considered best for everyone, right?
Another thing we could definitely be sure of would be that the new yellow speed cameras should help decrease the amount of accidents on the roads. That is a real no-brainer. Think about it the brand new yellow cameras would be a constant reminder to drivers to watch their speeds, be a little more cautious, also to think twice about racing on their next destination. The few minutes which you save by speeding should never be really worth the consequences you face automobile accident would happen.
And surely the brand new yellow speed cameras can provide better drivers for our future, don’t you agree? Once it is an ordinary a part of road safety, then your next generation of drivers won’t blink an eye fixed thinking of computer. In my personal opinion, every country should model their standards in relation to speed cameras following this new change. I realize that in Canada, speed cameras are black, grey, and even just hidden. The price are the highest priced fines in the united states and, yet, it is still one of the highest grossing areas inside the Department of Transportation. I wonder how those numbers would deplete if their speed cameras were bright yellow and visual to everyone on the roads.
Through the dawn of road safety and traffic laws, it should never have been about catching drivers in the act of speeding, it will have invariably been about preventing them before accidents ever even occur. All things considered, the camera’s purposes usually are not meant to be a tool to get and penalise bad drivers, it’s meant to create a safer environment to the high quality ones and, hopefully, to aid teach the speeders better practices. As being a driver on today’s roads, would you be more likely to make your speeds if you absolutely knew which you were being watched? Of course you would. In case speed cameras were hidden or coloured grey, as is also today, then would certainly be far less inclined to use caution. As we say, beyond sight, away from mind.
The announcement was simply recently made and a representative from Highways England has stated that people must start seeing the changes immediately and expect that all speed cameras on the highway and highways to get replaced with yellow ones by the end of October 2016. This offers the us government just a little under twelve months to implement the modification and, personally, I do think it’s money wisely spent.
